3 years in jail for woman who made fake rape claim against ex-boyfriend

One month after being found guilty of attempting to extort $10 million from her ex-boyfriend by making a false rape claim, 20-year-old Princess Williams has been sentenced to three years in jail.

Williams was back in Court today for sentencing and became emotional when the three-year prison term was handed down.

Last year, the young woman was charged after her ex-boyfriend filed a complaint that she wanted him to pay her $10 million to avoid her from claiming that he had raped her.

In her first Court appearance, she pleaded guilty to the crime but later changed that plea to not guilty which resulted in a trial being held.

The Court found her guilty of extortion on the completion of the trial and sentencing was delayed.

Before her sentence was handed down, the 20-year-old was charged with escaping from lawful custody after she managed to escape from a Police guard during a visit to the Georgetown Hospital while on remand.

The escape from lawful custody case is still ongoing.
