A late afternoon verdict was handed down in the High Court today which saw 67-year-old, George Robin, being bundled off to jail after he was found guilty of raping a 16-year-old girl.
In the Courtroom of Justice, Brassington Reynolds, the elderly man repeatedly professed his innocence after the jury returned the unanimous verdict.
“Whatever happens in front of man, God has to judge, I’m innocent, I’m innocent”, the man cried out, as the Judge set June 25, 2019 for sentencing.
The incident took place back in 2017 when the then 65-year-old man sexually penetrated the young woman. Because of the age of the victim and the nature of the crime, few details were made available to the media.
A probation report is expected to be completed before Justice Reynolds hands down his sentencing.
