Baramita man remanded to jail over murder of Venezuelan

It is reported that the two men ran into each other later the same night and the now dead man, managed to convince a woman who was with the accused, to go with him back to where he lives.

Baramita man remanded to jail over murder of Venezuelan

A 20-year-old man from Baramita in the North West District was today remanded to prison over the murder of a Venezuelan national.

The accused, Keron Williams called Virgil Henry appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before the Chief Magistrate where the indictable charge was read to him,

It is alleged that he stabbed 43-year-old Rafael Antonio Soto to death during a disagreement last Thursday night along a road in Baramita.

The two men reportedly were at a shop consuming alcohol earlier in the evening and left the bar around the same time.

It is reported that the two men ran into each other later the same night and the now dead man, managed to convince a woman who was with the accused, to go with him back to where he lives.

The two men got into a fight and it is alleged that it was at that stage that Williams stabbed the other man to death with a knife.

He initially went into hiding but was later arrested by the Police and charged.

He will make his next Court appearance in April.
