Owner of the Blue Iguana club, Royston Peniston, was remanded to jail today after being charged with being in possession of a quantity of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
The 44-year-old man was arrested at his Festival City home on Friday by agents of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit, after a search of the property uncovered more than five pounds of cocaine stashed in the false sides of two suitcases.
CANU believes the suitcases had been prepared for a possible cocaine shipment to the United States using someone else.
In Court today, Peniston entered a not guilty plea and was remanded to jail until the 3rd April, when the case will continue.
