Of the bodies recovered from the MV Barima ferry tragedy, five persons remain unidentified, and the Ministry of Health is seeking the public’s assistance.
In a statement this afternoon, the Ministry of Health explained that five (5) unidentified bodies recovered following the tragic sinking of the MV Barima remain at the Suddie Mortuary. The unidentified victims are four males and one female.
The Health Ministry is asking that families and relatives of persons who remain missing as a result of the tragedy to visit the Suddie Mortuary to assist with the identification process.
The Ministry said the identification of the victims is essential to ensuring that they are returned to their loved ones with dignity and afforded a respectful and proper burial.

More than 70 persons died in the ferry tragedy with at least 30 others still missing.
