At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today, a Duncan Street, Campbellville resident was remanded to prison after being charged for the possession of over 24 pounds of cocaine and illegal guns.

32-year-old Trevor Rodriguez, appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh and entered a plea of not guilty to all of the charges.

In addition to the cocaine possession charge, he was also charged for having in his possession one .357 taurus magnum revolver and six live matching rounds, along with two 9MM pistols and 36 live .45 rounds, without being the holder of the required license.

The Police arrived on the scene to probe a domestic violence complaint, but ended up making the drug and illegal weapons bust.

The items were reportedly found stashed in a gas bottle.

Attorney Glen Hanoman, who is representing the accused, made an application for bail but it was refused and the defendant will make his next court appearance on June 13th.
