A construction worker from the Sophia area and his wife have been arrested after a search at their home by the Police unearthed an AK-47 rifle and a pistol, sixty-five live rounds of ammunition, a large quantity of local and foreign currency and more than 70 pounds of marijuana.

The bust was made as the Police carried out a special operation in the area. The operation at the home started just after 10 o’clock on Sunday night and never ended until close to 6 o’ clock this morning.

A police statement said the operation in North Sophia was led by a Police Superintendent and it was very successful.

Investigators are looking for a third suspect.
