More than two months after a gold mining worker was abducted at the Giftland Parking lot and later robbed of millions of dollars, a Police Lance Corporal was taken before the Court and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Police Lance Corporal Delon Younge appeared in Court on Tuesday before Magistrate Clive Nurse, where the Conspiracy charge was read to him. A Police statement indicated that he was granted bail in the sum of $40,000 after pleading not guilty to the charge.
Another Police officer, whose name has not been released by the Force, is to be charged under the Disciplinary Act for the unauthorized use of a Force vehicle.
The Director of Public Prosecutions had initially recommended that both Policemen face criminal charges, but the matter was further investigated and resubmitted to the DPP resulting in just one of the two ranks facing the Court.

Meanwhile, another suspect in the same case, 29-year-old Okeema Brummel was arrested by the Police this morning along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway. He is suspected of being the mastermind in the case.
Police investigators have said that charges are being prepared to be laid against him.
Three persons were caught on camera at the Giftland Parking Lot back in October 2024, forcing gold mining worker Kevin Fiedkou out of his vehicle and into the back of a waiting car.
The man later told News Source that he was held at gunpoint and later forced to take the men to his home in Providence where he was robbed of $9 million that belonged to his family’s trucking business.
He said the following day the three men returned to his home in a Police car, demanding more money. However, they left empty handed as he told them he had nothing more to offer. Fiedkou later reported the abduction and robbery to the Police and based on video recordings of the incident, the three suspects were identified.
