Thirty-six year old, Mario Heywood of East Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown, was today charged with the rape of a 9-year old girl.
It is alleged that the incident occurred between the 1st October and the 20th November, 2018. The child was reportedly left in the man’s care when, it is alleged, he engaged in sexual activities with her.
At the Court today, the accused offered no comment as he was being taken in and out of the Courtroom.
He was granted bail in the sum of $250,000 and will have to return to Court on next week for the continuation of the case.
The case is a sexual offenses matter involving a minor and therefore details of the incident cannot be published.
