GCCI remains concerned about “political uncertainty” after Appeal Court ruling

The new President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nicholas Boyer has indicated that the Chamber continues to pay attention to the political situation in the country.

He said the “uncertainty” is of concern to the businesses.

Boyer pointed out that with the recent Court of Appeal decision, he is more concerned about what will happen at the Caribbean Court of Justice, than he would be about whether the Opposition goes to Parliament or not.

The Opposition PPP has stated that it will continue its boycott of the National Assembly until the outcome of the appeals being filed with the Caribbean court of justice.

The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce continues to complain about the investment climate in the country and business in total.

The Chamber maintains that there are still some concerns about a slow down in business because of the political situation.

Finance Minister Winston Jordan has said that the economy remains stable and sound and has pointed out that many sectors are actually performing much better than first thought.
