Former APNU+AFC Member of Parliament, Geeta Chandan Edmond, on Sunday said she was happy to be back in her political home with her political family in the People’s Progressive Party Civic.

Chandan-Edmond rose to the political scene as a member of the AFC and later a member of the PNC/R, but her politics started in the youth arm of the PPP/C before she went into law practice, later becoming a magistrate.

At the PPPC rally in Albion on Sunday, she said she was back home and ready to speak the truth.

“It is my distinct pleasure and honour to stand here before you, on my home soil in my village and back with my political family, I am back at home, I am here proudly, boldly and with pride and to say that there is no greater pride than coming home to tell you all the truth,” Chandan-Edmond noted.

The former General Secretary of the People’s National Congress said as someone who has been part of different political formations, she is confident that the PPP is the only one that has the competence to move the country forward.

“The truth is, I have walked the journey and I have seen both sides and I can tell you without fear, without favor and without apology and with a clear conscience, that the People’s Progressive Party Civic is the only party that will take us forward and it is the only party that has the competence, the efficiency and the bold and visionary leadership to take us forward,” she stated.

She said she will not turn a blind eye to development and urged those gathered not to do same. She said never in the history of the country has there been the level of transformation that is taking place now.

 “We are witness development that is touching every single door, every single household and every single family. The transformation is not a promise like the others would promise you, the transformation is a reality, it is real, it is tangible and you can feel it,” she said.

Chandan-Edmond said the PPP has transformed the country and has brought back unmatched pride in the people of the country, and for that she wants them to have another term.
