The WeLead Women’s Leadership Conference 2026 is adding some international star power to this year’s conference as the organisers have announced that two-time Grammy award winning singer, Melanie Fiona will headline the conference in June.
Melanie Fiona, who was born in Canada to Guyanese parents, will deliver the keynote address at the conference, the organisers said.
Fiona has built a global career rooted in authenticity, creativity, and storytelling, and also uses her platform to speak on personal growth, wellness, and transformation.
Founder of the WeLead Association, Abbigale Loncke-Watson said the conference is about creating space for women to see what is possible.
She said this year’s conference will bring together voices that reflect where Guyana is today.
It will feature a lineup of prominent women from across government, law, business, and civil society, including Minister Vindhya Persaud and Deputy Solicitor General Shoshanna V. Lall.
Organizers have indicated that the event will focus on real conversations around leadership, entrepreneurship, economic opportunity, and the role women are playing in shaping Guyana’s future.
In addition to panel discussions and leadership conversations, the event will also provide attendees with opportunities to connect, share experiences, and build relationships across industries.
