The Guyana Police Force has launched an investigation into a multi million dollar fraud that has reportedly taken place at the state-owned institution.

A number of staffers are under scrutiny and the Auditor General’s office has also been called in. The Georgetown Hospital would only report that a probe is underway. No other detail has been released. According to a release from the hospital’s Public Relation’s department, as more information is made available, the public will be updated via the media.

This is not the first time that there have been reports of fraud at the hospital. It is unclear which department is under scrutiny.
