Social media commentator turned Government contractor, Mikhail Rodrigues aka “Guyanese Critic” and political activist, Bryan Mackintosh aka “Bryan Maxx” both found themselves in Court today over a confrontation in a tv studio that left Mackintosh bloodied and bruised.
Rodrigues was charged for unlawful wounding committed on Bryan Mackintosh. He was granted bail in the sum of $100,000. Mackintosh was charged with provoking a breach of peace and abusive language committed on Ossie Rodgers. He was granted bail in the sum of $45,000.
The charges stemmed from an incident that took place on Saturday morning that was captured live on the Guyanese Critic’s social media programme.
During the programme, he left his studio while cameras were still rolling and invited Mackintosh into the studio, challenging him to pick up a stack of cash that was on a table.
Mackintosh had claimed that he was there to pick up payments for WIN party leader Azruddin Mohamed and ALP party leader, Simona Broomes, who had both won libel cases against Rodrigues.
During a confrontation in the studio, Mackintosh could be heard hurling remarks at both Rodrigues and Ossie Rodgers who was in the studio at the time. Eventually, Rodrigues jumped to his feet and punched Mackintosh to the face, sending him to the ground. He reportedly kept beating on the man while he was on the floor, leaving him bloodied and bruised across the face.
The two will make their next Court appearance in September.
