A 49 year old Guyanese woman was arrested and charged after a quantity of cocaine was found in her luggage when she arrived at the VC Bird International Airport on last Tuesday.

Police said 49 year old Carlin Jocelyn Jackson was slapped with charges of possession of cocaine, possession with intent to transfer, importation and being concerned in the supplying of cocaine.

Jackson arrived in Antigua aboard LIAT Flight 310.

She departed from Guyana the day prior, and In-transited through St. Lucia, where she had spent a night.

Police said her suspicious movements on the airport prompted narcotics officers who were on duty, to conduct a search of her luggage. The search turned up two false compartments inside her suitcase with two and a half pounds of cocaine hidden inside.

Jackson was taken into custody and charged. The drugs carry an estimated street value of EC$40,000.00 (Caribbean News Service)
