The owner of a city hotel in South Ruimveldt was taken into custody late on Wednesday night after agents of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit swooped down on the Aubrey Barker Road location and discovered a quantity of drugs.

During the late night operation, a number of other persons were taken into custody. Sources close to CANU also told News Source that several vehicles were seized during the operation.

The businessman is said to be well known to local law enforcement and had spent time in the United States prison system on a narcotics charge. He is believed to be wanted in the US currently on a narcotics charge.

CANU is expected to file charges soon in the case.
