Linden businessman remanded to prison on firearm charges

30-year-old Linden businessman, Dukquan Rose has been charged and remanded to prison over allegedly being in possession of firearms and ammunition without a license.

The man was arrested last Wednesday in Linden during a Police operation at his Redwood Crescent home. He appeared in Court on Friday where the charge was read to him.

A Police statement said Rose pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded to prison until the 16th December when the matter will continue.

In a Police statement last week, the Police said a search of the man’s home uncovered two handguns along with a quantity of ammunition, just over $6.9 Million in local cash and over US$7000 in cash.

There are reports that the search was triggered by information received by the Police about the suspect’s alleged involvement in the movement and sale of unlicensed firearms.
