A motorcyclist in his early twenties died on Friday night in the town of Linden after slamming in to a motorcar.
The tragic accident took placeĀ along the Amelia’s Ward Public Road.
Dead is 22-year-old Micheal Fox of Amelia Ward, Linden. According to Police Inspector with responsibility for traffic in the mining town, Leonard Craig, a motor car being driven by 20 – year – old Cleon Nicholson, also of Amelia’s Ward, was proceeding south along the road, approaching an intersection when the accident occurred.
The Police Inspector said, according to reports, Fox was traveling east allegedly at fast rate and slammed into the right side rear of the motorcar.
He was thrown off of his motorcycle and landed on the road. Fox sustained injuries about his body and was picked up by passersby and taken to the Linden Hospital where he was examined by a Doctor and later pronounced dead.
Inspector Craig said the police have questioned the driver of the motor car and an active investigation is underway.
He said while a driver’s license was presented to the police by Nicholas, none could be located immediately for Fox.
Fox’s death has thrown the community of Linden into mourning. Several bereaved family members and friends have taken to Facebook to expressed their sadness at his unexpected passing.
