Hours after a $5Million reward for information leading to his arrest, the Guyana Police Force this afternoon announced the arrest of the main suspect in the terror attack at the Regent Street Mobil Fuel station on Sunday that claimed the life of 6-year-old, Soraya Bourne.
The Police gave his name as Daniel Alexander Ramirez Peodomo. He was arrested at the Vergenoegen sideline dam on the East Bank of Essequibo, according to a Police statement.
The Police said a team of Police ranks headed by a Superintendent of Police made the arrest after they acted on information received and traveled to the area. The Police said the man remains in Police custody and is currently assisting with the investigations.
This morning, the Guyana Police Force released an updated photograph of the suspect, which investigators believe was instrumental in nabbing him.
The Police also indicated this morning that its investigators while carrying out a search for the man in the Region 3 area discovered clothing that is suspected to be the same clothing that the man wore when he was captured on camera placing a black bag near cooking gas cylinders at the gas station and walking off.

Moments after the man left the area, there was a loud explosion in the same area as a family heading to KFC which is located at the same service station was parking their car.
The six-year-old girl who died from the explosion was in the car along with two of her young cousins, her grandmother and an older cousin, who was the driver of the car.
Investigations were widened on Monday leading to the arrest of three persons and the confiscation of a motor car that the Police suspect was used to transport the man earlier on Sunday night. Those three persons, including a Venezuelan national, remain in Police custody.
Police investigators are expected to question the suspect in detail about the terror attack and whether there may be other persons linked to attack.
The investigations are ongoing.
