Residents of Cane View Avenue in South Ruimveldt between Greenheart Street and David Rose Avenue, woke up on Thursday morning to the shocking discovery of the lifeless body of a man wrapped in a blue tarpaulin on the road side.

One woman at the scene described the man as someone known only as “drug head”. Efforts were being made to contact his family for a proper identification.

Police investigators believe the man may have been murdered some place else and his  body dumped in that area. The body bore a number of wounds and other marks of violence. He may have been beaten and stabbed to death.

Several persons gathered at the scene of the discovery on Thursday morning.
