The Government will be seeking funds in next year’s budget for the construction of a new and modern Brickdam Police Station.
Minister of Home Affairs Robeson Benn revealed today that there is a plan for an 11-story Police Station complex to be constructed at the Brickdam site.
The Minister made the announcement this morning during a thanksgiving and award service for the Police Regional Division 4-A, according to a statement from the Police.
Most of the Brickdam Police Station complex was flattened by a fire back in October.
The Police offices for the station were temporarily housed at the nearby St. Stanislaus College, but the offices have since been moved back to the Brickdam site in temporary housing units and in one of the buildings that survived the blaze.
The new Brickdam Police Station is expected to cost hundreds of millions of dollars
There are a number of other police stations across the country currently earmarked for rehabilitation.
