North East La Penitence man charged for stabbing girlfriend to the buttocks

A North East La Penitence was today charged and granted bail for stabbing his girlfriend to her buttocks. The woman had to be hospitalised for the injuries.

52-year-old Marton McKenzie made his first appearance in court before Magistrate Judy Latchman, and entered a plea of not guilty after the charge was read.

The Charge stated that the defendant on the 6th July at North East La Penitence, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Andrea Brummel by stabbing her with a knife to the buttocks.

Even as the Defendant’s Attorney told the court that his client has sustained some injuries to the head due to the several lashes with a hammer by the virtual complainant, the Police Prosecutor made clear objections to bail, and stated that the injured woman still remains hospitalized.

Additionally, the Police Prosecutor further stated that on the day in question, the two individuals had an argument and the defendant whipped out a sharp object and stabbed the woman several times to her buttocks.

Taking into account the special circumstances of the Prison at the moment, the Magistrate released the accused on $80,000 Bail.
