More than 270 local, regional and international companies and businesses are on showcase as GuyExpo opens tonight at the National Exhibition Centre under the theme “Transformation through Entrepreneurship and Innovation.”
Minister of Tourism Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues said the theme captures the essence of Guyana’s remarkable growth and the vital role that entrepreneurship and innovation play in shaping the nation’s future.
Minister Rodrigues said for decades, GuyExpo has served as the premiere platform for showcasing Guyana’s economic potential bringing together manufacturers, agro-processors, service providers, consumers and investors, and providing them with a platform to exchange ideas, and opportunities while creating long lasting connections.
“To our business community, I say this: GuyExpo offers unmatched exposure to both local and international markets. It is an opportunity to showcase your products and services, to strengthen your networks, and to establish partnerships that can transform your business. I encourage you to come on board and be part of this journey,” Minister Rodrigues said welcome message.
She said during this, the 30th exposition, Guyanese and tourists alike, could expect an elevated experience with several exciting new years.
Senior Communications Manager at the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Cordell McClure said with more than 270 exhibitors on the ground, there is plenty to see and do.
“This is our 30th Anniversary, that’s the first thing, and that’s a big deal, and it means that we have been around since 1995. We are one of the longest running expos in the Caribbean and this is really a showcase of Guyanese business and it demonstrates how far we have come as a country, and our growth in terms of the private sector, agro-processors, manufacturers and service industries. So, it is a big showcase, and that’s why it is a big deal for us,” McClure said.

He said in addition to major changes to the layout of the exhibition, and attractions for all members of the family, this year’s expo includes a dedicated business-to-business networking hub that will provide companies and investors with an opportunity to connect and forge partnerships.
“It is a great experience and I want to invite everybody to come and you would be able to see Guyana in a different light. There is a lot of innovation that will come out in this year’s expo and also we have added an element of this year’s expo, which is a business to business seminar where we brought together more than 50 businesses, and they will be sitting in one room having conversations about partnerships and collaboration, investment because we want businesses to start thinking, partnerships and collaboration, and to explore opportunity of how they can grow,” he explained.
Another major highlight in this year’s Guyexpo is the Tourism Village, which will showcase the diversity and dynamism of the country’s Tourism Industry.
Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority, Kamrul Baksh told News Source that the Tourism Village will provide patrons with a mix of Guyanese cuisine, culture, art, craft, insights into its many tourism products and much, much more.

“So, the Tourism Village really is a microcosm of everything tourism that you can experience in destination Guyana. So, we have from the culinary delights, we have seven of the top chefs in Guyana, persons will be able to enjoy toppers of all kinds. We will also have a tourism cinema, which we will be featuring for the very first time, so all local documentaries and features about destination Guyana could be viewed here for the next four days. We also have a golfing area where persons could be putting. And so, the idea behind it is for persons to come and enjoy an experience right here in the Tourism Village,” Baksh said.
