On the same day that three men faced a City Magistrate with charges of murder in the gruesome killing of Berbice teen cousins, Isaiah and Joel Henry, President Irfaan Ali has expressed his confidence and support in the Police investigation.
The President told reporters today that he is pleased with the latest development in the matter.
“I have full confidence in the Police Force and in the ability of the Crime Chief and his team and I am very happy that we have made such big progress in the matter. This is very important for us nationally and now it is a big step forward and I am very very happy”, Mr. Ali said.
Days after the double murder, President Irfaan Ali traveled to Berbice to meet with the families of the dead teens. He also attended the viewing of their bodies on the day of the funeral.
The President has told investigators that he wants no stone to be left unturned in the probe.
The mutilated bodies of the cousins, Isaiah and Joel Henry were found in the Cotton Tree Backdam, West Coast Berbice back in September, one day after they were reported missing.
The gruesome murders shocked the country.
Today, three Berbice men were charged and remanded for the crime.
