According to a police report, at about 12:00 hrs on Tuesday, acting on information received, ranks from the Lethem Police Station went to Manari, Central Rupununi, where they arrested the three men, two Guyanese and a Brazilian.

Three men who were described by the Police as “rustlers” are currently in custody after being found with 15 stolen horses in the Region Nine area.

According to a police report, at about 12:00 hrs on Tuesday, acting on information received, ranks from the Lethem Police Station went to Manari, Central Rupununi, where they arrested the three men, two Guyanese and a Brazilian.

The 15 horses that had been stolen from the ranch of a businessman at Manari were found in the possession of the three men.

Police investigators said the horses were being taken to Brazil. The three “rustlers” have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with the investigations.

Many farmers and businessmen in the Rupununi area have been complaining about their animals including horses and cows, being stolen and taken to Brazil for sale.
