Police in Linden are investigating the gunning down of a 30-year-old taxi driver in the community of Victory Valley in Wismar, Linden.
The dead man has been identified as Ron Clarke of Kitty, Georgetown and Wisroc Housing Scheme, Linden. The man’s lifeless body was found on Thursday evening in a drain with more than ten gunshot wounds.
According to a Police statement, the body was discovered by a teenager who raised an alarm, and called out residents in the area.
Clarke was taken to the Linden Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators are hoping that persons will come forward with information about the murder.
The Police statement said an examination of the body revealed that the dead man sustained five gunshot wounds the right arm, two to the groin, one to the right side of his hip and six gunshot wounds to his right thigh. A warhead was also found in the man’s brief.
The Police said the scene was video processed by the crime scene ranks, and several spent shells and blood-stained slippers were collected.
Several persons were questioned in the area as investigations continue.
