Three die in suspected carbon monoxide poisoning in locked mini-bus

Three persons were found dead locked in a mini-bus along the Mabura trail on Sunday, and it is suspected that the three died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Two of the three persons have been identified. The driver has been identified as Leon Achee, while one of the other victims has been identified as Reeva Bovell.

The bus was found stuck in a mud pond along the road, and it is believed that the driver and the other two persons opted to wind up the windows and sleep through the night. From all appearances, the air conditioning was kept on, but the back section of the bus was stuck under mud, possibly causing carbon monoxide from the exhaust to make its way back into the locked up bus.

Police investigators said there were no signs of foul play or any wounds found on the bodies. All three persons appeared to have died in their sleep. The bodies have since been transported to Linden. Post mortem examinations will be carried out this week.
