Two crew members of a Guyana registered motor tanker are missing and feared dead after the vessel sank on Tuesday evening off the Guyana Coast in the vicinity of the mouth of the Corentyne River.
It was proceeding from Paramaribo, Suriname to Georgetown, Guyana at the time.
There were four crew members on board, according to Maritime officials. Two of the crew members were rescued while the other two remain missing.
According to the Maritime Department, search and rescue efforts are ongoing to locate the two missing crew members who are both Guyanese.
Some fishermen and owners of other vessels have offered to help with the search and recovery mission.
