A collision involving a motorcycle and a motorcar has left two young men in Linden dead. The accident occurred at around 8:30 on Monday night along the Kara Kara Public Road at the intersection of Proctor Road.
According to a Police report of the accident, the two young men, Latrel Whinfield and Isaiah Richards, were traveling at a fast rate on a motorcycle that was being operated by Whinfield, with Richards as the pillion rider.
The Police said the motorcycle was proceeding east along the Kara Kara Public Road when it collided with the right side of a motor car that was turning onto Proctor Road.
The two young men on the motorcycle were both pitched onto the roadway as a result of the impact, leaving them with multiple injuries.
Emergency Services were contacted and the bodies of the two men were eventually picked up at the scene and taken to the Linden Hospital, where they were both pronounced dead.
The Police said both the motorcycle and the motorcar have been lodged at the Mackenzie Police Station for examination. CCTV footage from the area will be reviewed to assist with the investigation. The driver of the motor car remains in police custody as investigations continue.
