An American citizen was busted at the Cheddi Jagan Airport early on Friday morning July 4, with over 12 pounds of cocaine hidden in packets of milk powder. The bust was made by the Police Narcotics Branch with support from the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit.

The man whose identity has not been released, was preparing to board a U.S bound Dynamic Airways flight.

That airline only started operation last week and has been stepping up security on its own. An investigation is underway into this latest drug bust at Guyana’s main international airport.
