Police investigators in West Berbice are reporting this evening that one of the suspects in the murder of a 22 year old part time waitress, has confessed to the crime.
The man, who is a watchman, was among three persons who were arrested as the probe widened. The partly naked body of the woman was found with stab wounds in a trench at #5 village on the West Coast of Berbice.
She was identified as Marissa Fraser, and according to family members, she was last seen alive late Sunday night, having a drink with some friends in her village.
A pair of scissors was found near to her lifeless body and the body bore stab wounds to the chest, breast and face.
A relative recalled that the woman was out for most of Sunday afternoon, but returned home just before midnight then left again to meet up with friends.
She has been described as hardworking and loving. An investigation is underway this morning.
