 24-Year-Old, Ryan Seecharan, stood before the Chief Magistrate, Ann Mclennan and entered a plea of not guilty to three traffic related offences.

At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today, a young tailor appeared before the Chief Magistrate and was charged with causing the death of a man and not offering assistance.

24-Year-Old, Ryan Seecharan, stood before the Chief Magistrate, Ann Mclennan and entered a plea of not guilty to three traffic related offences.

According to the Prosecutor, on the 24th June, at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, the young driver drove his motorcar, bearing registration number PVV 4911, in a manner that was dangerous to the public and that caused the death of Kalichanran Goordial.

He was also charged with failing to render assistance to the victim.

The Police report indicates that on the day of the incident, the now deceased man was lying down on the roadway in an intoxicated state, when the defendant ran over him, causing the man’s skull to be crushed.

The Attorney representing the accused, stated his client was placed on $100,000 station bail and has been reporting to the station multiple times since then.

The accused was today placed on an additional $300,000 bail and will make his next court appearance on September 13th.
