The stage is set for the hosting of this year’s Linden Town Week event, which opens this weekend and concludes on the 6th May.
The mining town of Linden, which sells itself as the heart of Guyana, is celebrating its 54th anniversary as a town, and through the Linden Town Week Committee and the Linden Mayor and Town Council, a number of entertainment and educational events will be hosted.
Co-orindator for the event, Stephon Gabriel, today told News Source that over the 11 days of the event, it will cater for families and entertainment seekers.
“Linden Town Week this year is a showcase of the vibrant culture of Linden. Linden is celebrating under the theme, One People, One Nation, One Destiny – Linden the heart of Guyana and the main purpose this year is to ensure that we reinforce the idea that Linden is a business hub, is a cultural hub and its catering for nature lovers, for those seeking educational activities and even for those who just want a getaway”, Gabriel said.
The town of Linden is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors from this weekend. Already, hotels in the town have been fully booked out and persons are being encouraged to create accommodation at their homes with the bed and breakfast services.
The Town Week Coordinator also reminded that there are business events and other events to encourage investment in Linden. He said it’s not just about entertainment.
The Linden Town Week events begins on the 26th April and concludes on the 6th May.
