The nephew of the Cummings Lodge woman who was found murdered in her house on Sunday night has reportedly confessed to the crime and is expected to face murder charges this week.
Police investigators nabbed the young man as evidence linked him to the murder scene. During police questioning, he reportedly confessed to murdering the 48-year-old vendor, Anita Mohan.
He was the last person seen in the woman’s company and yesterday he accompanied investigators back to the scene of the crime just after his confession.
The Guyana Police Force is now seeking legal advice in the matter.
The woman’s bloodied body was discovered by her son when he returned home on Sunday night from his job. The body bore multiple stab wounds and other injuries.
