A 66-year-old man from Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara who worked as a miner in Region 7 has been remanded to jail after being charged with trafficking of narcotics.

In a statement, the Guyana Police Force said Wilfred Reynolds was arrested on the 13th September with a quantity of narcotics in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He appeared before the Bartica Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to jail until the 29th September when the case will continue.
