Months after local telecommunications and cable provider, E-net announced plans to expand its services to 4G/5G mobile services, the company has started the roll out of the service, with a “test drive” for potential customers.
Enet, which boasts of being the only 100% locally owned telecommunications company and the newest mobile telecoms provider – has announced “unlimited talk, text and data” Orange Plans on its recently-built 4G/5G VoLTE (Voice over LTE) network.
The company announced that it is offering any of its plans free of charge so that persons can “test drive” the network in the first phase of its launch.
The company recommends that customers use a VoLTE-compatible phone to maximise the use of its network. VoLTE is currently available on all Apple iPhones and selected Android models. 5G is also available on select Android handsets.
ENet said its 5G VoLTE network will deliver a world-class product on 4G and 5G enabled phones, including local and international voice calls, SMS, 4G, and 5G data, and international roaming services.
Cellular talk, text, and data services will also be available across a large coverage area built on ENet’s fiber backbone. The company is hoping to pose major competition to the two existing mobile service providers in Guyana, GTT and Digicel.
