Two Berbice men remain in custody as investigations continue into the murder of 52-year-old Corentyne resident, Ninawattie Nandlall, whose body was found last Thursday in the backdam of Number Naught village, Corentyne.
The two suspects have been identified as an 18-year-old man and a 25-year-old man.
In a statement over the weekend, the Police said a post-mortem examination found that the woman died from Asphyxiation, a slash the neck and a fracture to the cervical spine.
Investigators believe she was murdered sometime between late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Family members had filed a complaint after not being able to contact the woman.
The suspects are likely to face charges this week.
