Three men are in custody following the discovery of more than 20 pounds of cocaine in the trunk of a car.
The bust was made by agents of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit at the corners of Lombard and Sussex Street on Wednesday. Two of the men were arrested the same day, with a wanted bulletin being issued for the third man, who surrendered to the authorities the day after.
According to CANU, the three men have been identified as 47-year-old Colin Alfred, 28-year-old Terrence Bentick and 27-year-old Jason DeFreitas.
Alfred and Bentick were arrested with the large parcels of cocaine in their car, while DeFreitas surrendered the following day after the wanted bulletin was issued for him.
CANU said the investigations are ongoing into the drug bust, which was triggered by information received by the unit.
