The ex-girlfriend of the 27-year-old Linden man who was gunned down yesterday at Half Mile in Wismar, has been taken into Police custody, as investigators have launched a search for her current boyfriend.
The young businessman, Amar Jones, was in his canter truck waiting to pick up his daughter from the ex-girlfriend when an armed man emerged from a car and opened fire on him. Jones tried to reverse after coming under attack, but was shot twice to the head.
The Police said the gunman re-entered the car and managed to escape from the scene. News Source understands that a number of persons in the area who witnessed the attack were able to identify the suspect as the current boyfriend of the dead man’s ex-girlfriend. The Police said a car that is suspected to have been used in the attack has been found and is currently being processed.
The suspect is no stranger to law enforcement, and had reportedly been named and charged in an abduction case in Providence earlier this year. However, he was released on bail as the case is ongoing.
The young businessman, who was executed, operated a wreck removal service. Friends say he was very humble and business oriented. However, he and his ex-girlfriend would have many arguments. Reports suggest that he made arrangements with the ex-girlfriend to pick up his daughter and told her where he would be waiting, moments before he came under attack.
The matter remains under probe.
