Police investigators have traveled to Imbamadai Landing in the Upper Mazaruni river area, to investigate the murder of 35-year-old gold miner, Stenson Roland.

Stenson was stabbed to death on Saturday night at a bar in the area.

According to the Police report on the incident, the miner was consuming alcoholic drinks at the bar when he was suddenly approached by another man and stabbed to the left side of his chest. The suspect ran away from the area just after, as the victim collapsed.

Police say the suspect is known to persons in the area as “Rohaman”.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect is still to be apprehended.
