Customs Officers of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) have seized two mini-buses and a motor vehicle that were found packed with smuggled liquor, beer and chicken.

The bust of the smuggled items took place in the East Coast Demerara village of Annandale.

The GRA reported that four persons were arrested and are currently assisting with investigations.

The revenue collection body said it will continue to carry out operations as part of its continuous efforts to curb smuggling and related activities.

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is also reminding the public that smuggling is illegal and anyone who attempts to import or export goods with intent to defraud the Revenue Authority of any duties, would be guilty of an offense and is liable for such offense to fines and or imprisonment in accordance with the Customs Act.

The Revenue Authority is also pleading with the Public to report any illicit, unlawful or smuggling activities and promised keep all such information confidential.
