Sparendaam youth remanded for murder of construction worker

28-year-old Sparendaam construction worker, Kevin Springer, was today charged and remanded to jail for the murder of 44-year-old Joseph Forde, who was also a construction worker.

Forde died last Friday after being brutally attacked and chopped about his body.

In Court today, Kevin Springer was not required to enter a plea to the indictable murder charge. He has been remanded until the 18th June, when the case will be called again.

A police report of the incident stated that Forde was attacked and chopped about his body for intervening in an incident days before when the same Kevin Springer was attacking a Plaisance youth.

Forde reportedly got involved and got help for that chopping victim.

The Police said that sometime between the last Thursday night and Friday morning, the 28-year-old Sparendaam youth attacked Forde, chopping him multiple times to his body.

The injured man was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where he died, leaving behind a wife and four children.

The murder accused was arrested over the weekend.
