Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo was today re-elected unopposed as the General Secretary of the People’s Progressive Party. The recently elected Central Committee of the party met today to elect the members of the Central Executive Committee and the party’s secretaries.

Agriculture Minister Zulficar Mustapha has been re-elected to the post of Executive Secretary and President Irfaan Ali will serve as the Finance Secretary of the party.

The other party members elected to the PPP’s Executive Committee as full members are Anil Nandlall, Dr. Frank Anthony, Vickram Bharrat, Collin Croal, Nigel Dharamlall, Neil Kumar, Shyam Nokta, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, Donald Ramotar, Clement Rohee, Dharamkumar Seeraj, Pauline Sukhai, and Gail Teixeira.

The party also announced that Kwame Mc Coy, Anand Persaud, and Ricky Ramraj were elected as candidate members.

The party held its 32nd Congress and Elections over the weekend, electing a Central Committee. That Central Committee met today and elected members to the Central Executive Committee, which is the highest decision making body in the party.

Over 3000 delegates attended the party’s congress over the weekend.
