Two charged and remanded to prison for abduction of still missing man

Two Georgetown men, Alpha Poole and Osafo Peters were charged and remanded to prison today for the abduction of Joshua David.

David was snatched just outside a Main Street restaurant last Thursday, and has not been seen or heard from since then. The entire incident was captured on camera.

The two men who appeared in Court this morning, had surrendered to the Police earlier this week following the issuance of wanted bulletins for them and four others.

In Court today, the abduction charge was read to the two suspects, who were not required to enter a plea. They were remanded to jail by the Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty.

The two men were rushed before the Magistrates’ Court to face charges, moments after the High Court had ordered their release since they were held in custody for more than 72 hours without being charged.

The Police moved ahead and instituted the abduction charge against the men.

Meanwhile, three other suspects in the abduction of Joshua David surrendered to the Police today. A sixth suspect is still being sought.

Its been over a week since the caught-on-camera abduction, and there continues to be no information on the whereabouts of the young man.

Frustrated family members hosted a candle light vigil on Main Street on Wednesday night, crying out for justice and for the Police to step up their investigations.

The family members said they are unaware of what might have led to the man’s abduction.
