A driver and a pedestrian lost their lives tragically on Sunday in an accident along the Belle Vue Public Road, West Coast Berbice.
The two dead persons have been identified as 29-year-old Davin Daniels, who was the driver of the car, and 49-year-old pedestrian, Mark George.
A Police said investigations have revealed that the car was being driven at a fast rate in an eastern direction along the northern side of the Belle Vue public road, when the driver lost control, swerved to the southern side of the road, and collided with a vegetable stall.
The car continued to spin out of control and collided with a bus shed where the pedestrian was sitting. The shed was hit down, pinning the pedestrian under it, as the car came to a halt after crashing into a utility pole.
The 29-year-old driver was pulled from the car, and the pedestrian was eventually pulled out from under the collapsed bus shed. The two men were rushed to the Fort Wellington Hospital, but were both pronounced dead by the Doctor on duty.
A full investigation into the deadly accident is ongoing.
