On the evening of September 20, 2026, fisherman Shiva Ramroop was driving to a nearby gas station along the BeeHive Public Road when a car being driven by a Policeman crossed over into his lane and slammed directly into him.
The accident has left the 29-year-old fisherman hospitalised for over a month nursing two broken ribs, damage to his liver and a spinal chord injury.
But even as Ramroop remains laid up in bed incapacitated by the injuries he sustained in the smash-up, the Policeman responsible for the accident is still to be charged. Ramroop’s wife believes there is a deliberate attempt to drag on the case, even as she seeks justice.
The entire accident was captured on CCTV cameras, and the footage revealed the red car being driven by the fisherman traveling in its correct lane, when another car traveling in the opposite direction crossed over into the lane and slammed directly into the Ramroop’s car, ripping its front apart.
The man’s wife, Rishie Ramroop, has released the video recordings of the accident on social media, stating that the move is her last hope as the Police continue to drag its feet on the investigations more than a month later.
The woman said she has found herself going back and forth to the Cove and John Police Station and has received no proper explanation for the sloth in the investigations. She said the Police Officer responsible for the accident has since returned to work, while her husband who is the family’s breadwinner, is still nursing serious injures.
The wife is now demanding justice and is hoping that someone in authority can look into the case as she awaits justice for her husband.
