According to a Police statement, the operation was intelligence-led and unearthed three motor cars, a number of car parts, a motorcycle, five generators and the shell of a mini-bus.

13 arrested as Police break up an Auto-theft ring

Thirteen persons have been taken into custody as part of a Police operation that has broken up a car stealing ring.

The operation was carried out in different locations in Kuru Kururu along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway.

According to a Police statement, the operation was intelligence-led and unearthed three motor cars, a number of car parts, a motorcycle, five generators and the shell of a mini-bus.

Investigators also found weeding machines and other items that are all suspected to have been stolen.

The operation took place on Wednesday and since then a number of persons have come forward to identify their stolen property.

Additionally, some of those arrested have already confessed to the crime. The investigations are ongoing and charges are to be laid soon.
