14-months in jail for man found guilty of breaking into home and theft

A 26-year-old former resident of West Ruimveldt was this morning sentenced to 14 months in jail after being found guilty of breaking into a home and carting off more than $1 million in jewellery and electronic items.

The sentence was handed down by Magistrate Rhondel Weaver after she found Ceon Isaacs guilty of the crime.

The man was charged back in July 2019, after he broke into the Cane View Avenue, South Ruimveldt home of Sandra Adams and carted off several pieces of the woman’s personal belongings.

The homeowner returned home while the man was in the middle of the act and she raised an alarm. He was able to drive away from the scene but was later arrested and charged.

He was carted off to jail this afternoon to begin his 14-month prison sentence.
