The murder rampage is continuing in the mining community and the Guyana Police Force has found itself investigating yet another brutal murder in the Port Kaituma area.
Dead is 35-year-old miner, Dennis Creme, of Port Kaituma, North West District. He was stabbed to his neck on Friday during a drinking spree with a friend at Snake Creek, Cuyuni River.
Investigations have revealed that Dennis Creme and the another man were imbibing at a shop when he was stabbed to his neck. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Bartica Hospital.
The suspect has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigation. Several murders have been recorded at a number of mining areas throughout the country for the year. There have been calls for more police presence at many of the gold mining camps.
