A 37-year-old man was shot dead in Bagotstown on the East Bank of Demerara on Tuesday night during an altercation with another man.
The deceased has been identified as Mark Anthony Benjamin. A Police report indicated that on Tuesday evening, at around 6:40pm, Benjamin and the suspect, Hosea Salmon, got involved in an altercation, which ended with Salmon shooting Benjamin to the head.
Benjamin collapsed on the scene and was later pronounced dead. A post mortem examination is to be performed on his body. The murder suspect, Hosea Salmon, was able to escape from the scene and is now being sought by law enforcement. The Police said the two men were known to each other.
